Candidates whose native language is not English may bring a printed bilingual dictionary into the test for use in Section I and Section II only. Any candidate taking up this option must submit the dictionary to the Supervisor for inspection before the test begins.
A non-programmable calculator is permitted, though not essential, for use in Section III only. If you are concerned your calculator is programmable bring it with you but also bring a basic calculator as a back up.
Guide to Identifying Programmable Calculators
Functions to look out for are:
· PRGM or prog (or similar) button
· A graphics function
· Keys or buttons with alphabetic letters associated with them. These allow letters and words to be entered.
· Generally programmable calculators are thicker than non-programmable ones
· A large screen can also be an indicator
. Two lines of text on the screen
Programmable calculators are usually old; computers have replaced many of their functions.
